Is it ok to remove the standard indicators on the front of my motorbike now that I have indicators on my mirrors or do I have to keep both? With my VTR being orange its not that easy to see the indicators which is why I got the mirrors, their much clearer for other to see.
A
There is no MOT advice on where the indicators are other than they must be visible and not in a position where the rider would obscure them. They must adhere to the indicator conditions of brightness and flash rate. ie
ē must show a light of the appropriate colour
ē must flash between 60 to 120 times per minute
ē cannot affect the operation of another lamp

Q
Hi, Iím in the process of making a pit bike road legal (offroad bike) and Iím just wondering if I need to fit indicators for when I get it registered. Iíve read that itís fine as long as itís an offroad bike, but then it would only pass a "daylight MOT" and Iíd have to remove or tape over the front/rear lights or something and that I could ride the bike on the road just as long as itís in daylight and no at night, is this true??
A
your bike has to have all lights or no lights, and it doesnt need a horn, mirrors or indicators either for a daylight mot. but it does need a full size number plate
